Conductor: One MCP Server, 255+ Tools

The Problem
Every AI coding assistant needs tools. File system access. Git operations. Shell commands. Database queries. API calls.
The problem is: every tool requires its own server, its own config, its own credentials.
You want Claude Desktop to access your Postgres database? Set up an MCP server. You want Cursor to run shell commands? Set up another MCP server. You want Cline to read files? Yet another MCP server.
This is absurd. It's like needing a different credit card reader for every bank.
That's why I built Conductor.
The Vision
"The Stripe of MCP servers"
Just like Stripe unified payments with one API, Conductor unifies all AI tool access through one server. One config. One credential store. Every AI client connects to the same place.
Claude Desktop → Conductor → [Filesystem, Shell, Git, Postgres, APIs, AWS, Slack, etc.]
Cursor → Conductor → [same tools, same credentials]
Cline → Conductor → [same tools, same credentials]
Windsurf → Conductor → [same tools, same credentials]
What Conductor Actually Does
15 Zero-Config Tools
Install Conductor and these work immediately:
- File System — Read, write, search files anywhere
- Shell — Execute commands with approval gates
- Git — Full git operations (commit, push, branch, etc.)
- Web Fetch — Fetch and parse any URL
- Database — SQLite & Postgres queries
- Calculator — Math expression evaluator
- Notes — Markdown notes management
- Weather — Current conditions
- Keychain — OS credential store
- Webhooks — Incoming/outgoing event handlers
- Cron — Scheduled tasks
- Docker — Container CLI
- GitHub — PRs, issues, repos
- Slack — Messages and channels
- Gmail — Read and send email
240+ Additional Tools
Add credentials to unlock:
- AWS: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS
- GCP: Compute, Storage, Functions
- Todoist: Tasks and projects
- Linear: Issues and projects
- Notion: Pages and databases
- Airtable: Bases and records
- And more...
Security Built In
This isn't an afterthought. It's the foundation:
- AES-256-GCM encryption — All credentials encrypted before storage
- Approval gates — Destructive tools require explicit confirmation
- Circuit breakers — Each tool has independent protection; after 5 failures, it stops
- Audit logging — SHA-256 chained log at
~/.conductor/audit.log - Command allowlisting — Shell plugin enforces strict command whitelist
- Rate limiting — All HTTP endpoints rate-limited

- Version: v2.2.0
- Package:
@useconductor/conductoron npm - GitHub: useconductor/conductor
- Install:
npm i -g @useconductor/conductor
What's Next
The roadmap includes:
- Plugin marketplace — Community-built tools
- Real-time dashboard — See tool usage in action
- Plugin picker UI — Visual tool selection
- More integrations — Linear, Notion, Spotify, anything
Why This Matters
We're entering the era of AI agents. These agents need tools. The current state—fragmented MCP servers, duplicated configs, credential sprawl—is not sustainable.
Conductor is the infrastructure layer that makes AI agents actually practical to deploy. One server. Every tool. Any client.
That's the vision. That's "the Stripe of MCP."
Conductor is open source. MIT license. Built by TheAlxLabs.
