The Problem with Email Clients

Every email app in 2026 has the same pattern: a list of messages, folders to navigate, buttons to click. AI lives in a sidebar — you click a button, a panel opens, you can ask it to summarize or draft.

That's not Dirac.

The Vision

"Email, but the AI is the interface"

In Dirac, you don't navigate an inbox. You talk to your email. The list isn't the UI — conversation is.

Conventional: Open app → Scroll list → Click email → Read → Click Reply → Write → Send
Dirac: Open app → "What needs attention?" → AI ranks and answers → "Send it"

What Dirac Actually Does

Core Features

  1. Conversational Inbox — Ask about your email, get ranked answers
  2. Smart Composition — "Reply to Peter about the UI" → drafts are shown
  3. Semantic Search — "Emails from Shopify last 3 months" → structured results
  4. Auto-Response — AI proposes, you approve (no unilateral actions)
  5. Thread Intelligence — Understands context, not just individual emails

How It Works

  • Next.js + Prisma + Postgres — Not self-hosted, Prisma-hosted
  • Semantic Indexing — Embeddings for natural language queries
  • Privacy-First Architecture — Minimizes raw content exposure
  • Approval Gates — Drafts shown before sending, deletions surfaced

Current Status

  • Launch Date: April 19, 2026
  • Stack: Next.js, Prisma, Postgres
  • Testing Site: Live with invite code system
  • GitHub: Dirac-app
  • Discord: discord.gg/9AMpVkk5yv

What's Next

  • Mobile apps — iOS and Android
  • Plugin system — Calendar, CRM integrations
  • Team features — Shared inboxes, collaborative compose

Why This Matters

The inbox is a solved problem — solved wrong. We've been navigating lists for 40 years. It's time to ask instead.

Dirac is that ask.

Dirac is being built with Peter. Launching April 19, 2026.
